Haven Lofts

I have got a few pic’s of my new y/b loft in the garden and the four young birds I have in it , Loft has been up for a couple of weeks and im just starting to make a few changes and as these move forward I will keep you all up to speed and any tips or advice is always welcome….

Doncaster Racecourse

 Living near to the racecourse this show gives me a very good opportunity to get out and have a good luck around meet old and new friends. The good thing with a web site is you get to talk to new people all the time, my idea with this trip was to get a few bit’s for myself and for grandad and give you all an over view of the show.

This show is a great meeting place almost central in the country for most people and it just breaks up the off season a little while giving you the chance to stock up before breeding. The show which is held at the racecourse with great access from the main road networks M1, A1, M18 & M62 making it a fantastic place to meet. It seems to increases in size every year which can only be a good thing for the sport and might be a sign that the sport is in good shape?

As I said I was there for some selfish reasons but my intensions were to give people who haven’t made it to Doncaster an insight into just what is on offer at this very well run show! There are lofts on show stalls with equipment, books, clothing, birds for sale, medicines, suppliers of loft goods and studs. I’m going to list as many as I can but If I miss anyone please forgive me it’s just an over view of the people I had time to talk to and stall’s I got to visit, I took a few pictures of some of the stall’s on offer and most of these stall’s are here every year along with many auctions that were going on all weekend:

We have just bought two new Pouw Bros Janssen stock hen’s and should have some pic’s on line in the coming  weeks below I have added pic’s of there farther’s……

sorry there has been a big gap in updates im just in the middle of moving house there has been so much intrest in the goodyear pigeons with them going fast if anyone is looking for some class birds drop me a line via e-mail

The site is moving forward all the time with good pigeon links added  everyday ,I dont just add people im a pigeon man my self and all the links have some value to other pigeon fanciers or show a differnt side of the pigeon sport from around the world..

Im just in the middle of a new post on molting ,corn,lice and other interesting facts that are very important at this time of year !

A WEEK AGO I PEND A FEW WORDS ABOUT A VISIT FROM A YOUNG LAD AND HIS DAD RICHARD sr & RICHARD jr THAT CAME DOWN TO THE HAVEN LOFTS TO COLLECT SOME BIRDS ,I ASKED THEM TO SEND ME A FEW PIC’S OF THEM WITH SOME OF THERE BIRDS I KNOW THY HAVE KEEP A FEW SHOW BIRDS IN THE PAST BUT HAVE NOW COME BACT TO RACING BIRDS,  ITS ALWAYS NICE TO SEE YOUNG LADS SHOWING AN INTEREST AND THERE (OLD DAD’S HAHA) THANKS FOR COMING TO SEE ME IM JUST SORRY I DIDENT HAVE MORE TIME TO TALK BUT IM SURE I WILL SEE YOU BOTH AT BLACKPOOL SHOW!

WELL WHAT A WEEK END….

I drive down o the lofts after work on everyother friday night and i was hoping to get a few fresh pic’s for the site but being in a rush i managed to forget my camra !! thats about right for me well i wouldent have had time anyway it was grandads birthday so we were busy….I also had a new starter and his dad Richard and Richard jr coming down to look at some birds its always great to meet new people and get them more interested in pigeons both farther and son had an interest and this can only be good news for the sport, I feel some fancyers are not as willing to help new starters like thay used to we all must do as much as we can to help these young boy’s and girls to get going there are so many pit falls as we all know even for people with years of experiance fly aways are an everyday problem !

I will try and get a nice pic of Richard jr & his dad and i wish him all the best in the coming years (school comes first). It dident always for me i can rember waking up on a bench on my garden after falling asleep in the sun watchig my y/b’s and ending up late for school (hahah)  happy days….

NEW PHOTO’S OF OTHER STOCK HOUSED AT THE HAVEN LOFTS COMING NEXT WEEK

Sorry ive had a busy week and just finding the time to get on line has been hard ive got a free weekend and im going to update some of  the stock pages , We have a lot more birds than we have on the site with a large Janssen based family and some great birds on loan from good friends up and down the country two being (Steve Birditt,Sheffield & Bill Edwards,Gosport). We also  have some new Jan Aarden birds to add so its going to be a busy weekend so if anyone e-mails me please fogive m if i dont get back to you untill monday……

We have a new loft to go up over the closed seasson ,this is the time to make those changes  ad give the birds the chance to get used to the new look loft : Remeber were looking for warm,dry,draf free lofts….
